Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago on September 13 highlight a high near 72°F amid increasing clouds, a 40% chance of afternoon showers, and northerly winds near 10 mph, driving the market's tight clustering around 72–75°F. This cooler pattern follows Saturday's 87°F peak and reflects a post-frontal moderation, with lake-enhanced cooling and reduced insolation from cloud cover limiting daytime maxima below the 77°F seasonal average. Model consensus supports this range, though slight variations in precipitation timing or wind strength could shift the actual high by 1–2°F, creating the observed split between the two leading bins as traders weigh short-term guidance updates.
