Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.Recent Met Office guidance points to sunny intervals and a daytime maximum of 22 °C for London on 24 August, aligning with ensemble model consensus that places the highest temperature in the narrow 21–22 °C range. This reflects a transition to fresher late-summer conditions after an unusually warm 2026 season, driven by a weakening high-pressure ridge, moderate north-westerly flow, and increased cloud cover that limits insolation. Small differences in forecast timing of any weak fronts or variations in boundary-layer mixing explain the tight spread between 21 °C and 22 °C outcomes. Traders weigh these model nuances against climatological averages near 22 °C, recognizing that minor shifts in wind direction or humidity could tip the daily peak by a degree either way before resolution.
