Current forecasts from the National Weather Service and major models indicate Austin overnight lows on September 3 will likely settle in the mid to upper 70s amid continued southerly flow, high humidity, and afternoon thunderstorm chances that limit radiative cooling. With daytime highs projected near 96–100 °F, the boundary layer remains warm, supporting minimum temperatures clustered around 75–79 °F. Historical September 3 averages near 71 °F highlight the anomalous warmth, yet no strong frontal passage or drier air mass is expected before the date. This tight clustering of model guidance explains the market’s close contest between the 76–77 °F and 78–79 °F bins, with modest probability on warmer outliers reflecting residual forecast spread in moisture and wind. Updated model runs and NWS briefings over the next 48 hours will refine these thresholds ahead of market resolution.
