Recent National Weather Service guidance points to a high near 92°F for Houston on September 3 amid south-southeast flow and 60% afternoon shower and thunderstorm chances, yet persistent model spreads and convective timing create the tight clustering around 86–89°F market-implied odds. Abundant Gulf moisture, high dew points near 75°F, and potential for early cloud cover or outflow boundaries could cap daytime heating below guidance, while clearer breaks or delayed storms would allow readings to reach the low 90s. These variables, typical of late-summer patterns where climatological highs average 91°F, explain why traders heavily favor the narrow 86–89°F range over higher or lower bins ahead of updated model runs.
