Recent National Weather Service guidance places Houston's September 1 high near 94°F under partly sunny skies with a 50% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, while private models show a range from the low 90s to upper 90s depending on convective timing. Persistent humidity and potential early cloud cover or rainfall could suppress peak readings toward the historical 91–92°F average for the date, explaining why the two lowest bins now command roughly 63% combined implied probability. Steep model spread on boundary-layer mixing and storm initiation remains the dominant uncertainty, with new NWS updates and high-resolution runs expected to refine the outcome before resolution.
