Haiti's Provisional Electoral Council maintains an August 30, 2026, first-round date for presidential and legislative elections, followed by a potential December runoff, despite earlier postponements of voter and candidate registration in April. Ongoing gang violence and funding shortfalls continue to pose risks, yet the council has issued a revised calendar, political parties have registered in large numbers, and Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé has reaffirmed plans to install elected officials by early 2027. These steps, alongside international support for security stabilization, underpin trader consensus that another full delay before year-end remains less likely than completion on the current schedule.
