**Current forecasts from the National Weather Service and multiple models point to a high in the mid-60s Fahrenheit for Chicago on September 24, driven by persistent northeast flow off Lake Michigan that maintains cool, stable air and extensive cloud cover.** This pattern has produced seasonably cool conditions since mid-September, with recent highs in the low-to-mid 60s and no strong warming signal expected before the 24th. The market’s concentration on 66–69°F outcomes aligns with this consensus while incorporating model spread and the chance of limited afternoon clearing that could allow a slightly higher peak. Historical September 24 averages near 73°F underscore how atypical the current cool regime is, yet traders appear to be weighting the latest official guidance and lake-influenced moderation heavily as resolution nears.
