Recent polling for New Zealand’s November 7, 2026, general election shows Labour and National running neck-and-neck on the party vote, with several August surveys placing Labour narrowly ahead or tied. This has shifted trader consensus toward Labour as the likeliest largest party or government-forming bloc under MMP rules. The incumbent National-led coalition with ACT and New Zealand First retains competitive positioning in other surveys, though National support has slipped below 30 percent in the latest Curia poll while ACT has risen. Minor parties including Greens and the Opportunities Party remain relevant to bloc totals but show little chance of finishing first in seats. The race remains sensitive to final-week swings in undecided voters and electorate outcomes.
