Therese Terlaje secured the Democratic nomination in the August 1 primary with 47.8% of the vote, narrowly ahead of Joshua Tenorio, while Vicente Ada captured the Republican nod with 60.5%. These primary outcomes, combined with Guam’s recent Democratic control of the governorship and the territory’s voter patterns, underpin trader consensus favoring Terlaje at 67.5% implied probability over Ada at 33%. A late August candidate forum addressed shared priorities including economic development, childcare costs, and public health, yet produced no major shifts in positioning ahead of the November 3 general election. The race remains subject to standard campaign variables and turnout dynamics in the coming weeks.
