**National Weather Service forecasts indicate San Francisco will reach the upper 70s to near 80°F on September 23 under mostly sunny skies following morning patchy fog, a notable warm-up from the prior days' marine-layer-cooled conditions.** A departing cutoff low has allowed 500 mb heights and 850 mb temperatures to rise several degrees above normal, compressing the marine layer and permitting greater insolation. This supports the tight clustering of market-implied odds around 76–81°F, where small differences in exact clearing time, onshore wind strength, or microclimate effects at official recording sites can shift the daily maximum across those bins. Historical September 23 averages near 71°F provide context for the current anomaly, while model consensus remains the key near-term catalyst ahead of final observations.
