Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble models show a weak upper-level low exiting the region, allowing high pressure to strengthen and the marine layer to thin or clear by Wednesday. This setup favors subsidence warming and reduced onshore flow, pushing daytime highs into the upper 70s near the coast to the mid-to-upper 80s a few miles inland. Traders appear focused on the precise strength and timing of this clearing, as lingering low clouds or stronger sea breezes could cap readings near 78–80 °F while fuller sunshine and light offshore winds support 84–86 °F. Historical September climatology for downtown Los Angeles centers around 76 °F, providing context for the current above-average trajectory. Updated model runs and the next NWS forecast discussion will likely refine these temperature gradients ahead of market resolution.
