Recent model guidance points to a warm, humid southerly flow ahead of a frontal system bringing showers and thunderstorms to Chicago on September 15, supporting overnight lows near 66–68 °F under mostly cloudy skies. Radiational cooling under clearer breaks could allow readings to dip toward the mid-60s or lower if precipitation timing shifts, while stronger warm advection or persistent cloud cover would favor readings in the upper 60s. Lake Michigan’s moderating influence and variable wind shifts further widen the range across ensembles. With market-implied odds closely split between 68–69 °F, sub-59 °F, and 78 °F-plus scenarios, traders are weighting the potential for forecast adjustments from the National Weather Service and updated model runs through the 14th.
