Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model guidance indicate the overnight low in Chicago on September 9 will likely settle in the upper 60s, driven by lingering cloud cover, showers, and a moderating southwesterly flow before winds shift northwest. This aligns with the market-implied probabilities favoring 67°F or below at 46% alongside 68-69°F and 70-71°F bands near 31.5% each, reflecting modest uncertainty in exact minimum readings amid humid conditions and variable precipitation. Early September warmth, with recent highs in the mid-80s, has kept temperatures above the 1991-2020 average low of 61.5°F for the date, while the absence of a strong cold front limits downside risk. Updated model runs and official observations through the evening will refine these outcomes ahead of resolution.
