The Pernambuco Senate race for one of two seats remains highly competitive for second place, with trader consensus reflecting a fragmented field of over a dozen registered candidates following August party conventions. Recent April–August polling from firms like Quaest, Datafolha, and Real Time Big Data shows Marília Arraes (PDT) consistently leading with 18–28% support, while a tight battle persists among Humberto Costa (PT), Mendonça Filho (PL), Eduardo da Fonte (PP), Túlio Gadêlha (PSD), and others for the remaining position. Key factors sustaining the deadlock include Pernambuco’s polarized electorate, shifting party alliances, and the absence of decisive momentum shifts in the final stretch before the October 4 first-round vote. Late campaign events, turnout patterns among key voting blocs, or endorsements could still reorder the standings for second.
