Recent exit polls from Sweden’s September 13 parliamentary election indicate the Social Democrats leading with roughly 28 percent, followed by the Moderates near 18 percent and the Sweden Democrats around 17 percent, reflecting a sharper-than-expected drop for the latter from pre-election averages near 19 percent. This ordering stems from sustained centre-left strength on crime, integration, and economic concerns, combined with the Sweden Democrats’ underperformance relative to their second-place standing after 2022. Proportional representation and the 4 percent threshold further shape seat allocations, with the Moderates benefiting from bloc dynamics. Trader consensus on Sweden Democrats finishing third rests on these verified polling trends, though final official results could shift if late-counted districts or turnout variations narrow the Moderate margin by even a few tenths of a point.
