Federal charges against the Southern Poverty Law Center and recent indictments of former officials for wire fraud, bank fraud, and related conspiracy tied to payments to extremist group informants have shaped trader views on the "Anyone charged over SPLC extremism funding?" market. The April 2026 grand jury action in Alabama and August 2026 arrests of individuals such as a former intelligence director have confirmed legal actions linked to the alleged scheme, yet the 70.3% implied probability on "No" reflects trader consensus that further or broader charges remain unlikely given the case's procedural status, limited scope of the original informant program, and absence of additional high-profile developments in recent months. Ongoing congressional document requests and state-level reviews have not produced new indictments that would shift the market decisively.
