In the Oeiras 3 Challenger round of 16 on clay, Chilean Nicolas Jarry faces Portuguese home favorite Jaime Faria in a closely contested matchup shaped by Faria's recent head-to-head edge—defeating Jarry 7-6(6), 6-7(4), 6-3 in Rio Open qualifying two months ago on the same surface. Jarry advanced with a gritty 6-2, 3-6, 6-0 comeback over seeded Elmer Moller, building on his Madrid Challenger semifinals run, while Faria grinded out a 6-7(1), 6-2, 6-4 win against Guy Den Ouden after reaching the Sao Paulo Challenger final last week. With rankings near 140-155, Faria's local support and consistent clay form counter Jarry's powerful baseline game and experience, fueling even trader consensus amid no reported injuries.
