Light southerly breezes and high solar insolation during clear periods favor peaks near 29°C, while patchy cloud from an approaching trough of low pressure over southern China could cap highs at 28°C by limiting daytime heating. Recent observational data shows 30.2°C recorded at the Observatory on April 16—the year's highest—amid similar hot conditions and above-normal April temperatures, underscoring potential for 30°C if showers hold off. Updated HKO guidance expected within 24 hours may refine model consensus.
