Persistent southwest monsoon (habagat) rains and extensive cloud cover over Luzon are the main near-term drivers keeping Manila overnight temperatures from dropping sharply, with PAGASA forecasting a 25–29°C range and 80% rain chance for September 7. Strong El Niño conditions in the Pacific typically favor drier, warmer patterns later in the season, yet current monsoon dominance and embedded thunderstorms are moderating diurnal ranges. Official guidance and model runs point to lows near 25–26°C under humid, overcast skies, though variability in rainfall timing and intensity creates genuine uncertainty around whether minima stay above 26°C or dip toward 24°C or lower. Updated PAGASA briefings and next GFS/ECMWF runs will likely refine these thresholds ahead of market resolution.
