Multiple declared candidates including João Azevêdo (PSB), Veneziano Vital do Rêgo (MDB), Marcelo Queiroga (PL), Nabor Wanderley (Republicanos), Major Fábio (NOVO), and others have created a fragmented field for Paraíba’s two Senate seats. July 2026 polls showed Azevêdo leading but with no dominant margin, followed by Veneziano and Queiroga, reflecting divided voter preferences ahead of the October election. Party conventions in early August finalized the slate without major realignments that would consolidate support. The even market pricing across contenders indicates trader views of high uncertainty, driven by coalition negotiations, undecided voters, and the absence of late-campaign events that could shift turnout or preferences in this multi-candidate contest.
