Beibit Zhukayev, ranked No. 340 with a career-high of No. 171, entered the Mexico City Challenger first round as the clear experience edge over local qualifier Alejandro Hayen (No. 1309), who grinded through qualifying with gritty three-set wins over Jake Delaney and Max Wiskandt on clay over the past 48 hours. The Kazakh's superior ranking, recent Challenger-level play, and clay court comfort contrasted Hayen's home-crowd boost and momentum from upsets against lower-ranked foes, fostering trader consensus on a competitive matchup despite no prior head-to-head. No injuries or withdrawals reported, with surface familiarity and stamina key factors on the high-altitude Mexico City courts.
