In the Wuning 2 Challenger round of 16 on indoor hard courts, No. 3 seed Fajing Sun (ATP 244) meets qualifier Khumoyun Sultanov (ATP 802) in their first head-to-head matchup, scheduled for April 16. Sun advanced with a dominant 6-2, 6-1 win over Tai Sach in the round of 32, leveraging strong serving (82% first-serve points won in recent play) and home-crowd support in China after a first-round bye. Sultanov, peaking at No. 215 last year, grinded through qualifying with straight-set victories over Yuki Mochizuki and Tai Sach before defeating wildcard Aoran Wang 6-3, 7-6(4), firing 14 aces en route. Both enter undefeated in sets this week, with Sun fresher but Sultanov's momentum a key upset factor amid no reported injuries.
