**National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model consensus currently favor a high temperature near 96–99°F for Austin on September 22, driving the leading market-implied probabilities for the 96–97°F and 98–99°F bins.** Light winds, elevated dew points supporting heat indices above 100°F, and a modest chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms introduce variability that could trim or boost the peak by a degree or two. These conditions sit well above the 1991–2020 average high of 89.6°F for the date, reflecting persistent late-summer warmth. Traders appear to weigh the spread across updated model runs and any NWS forecast adjustments expected in the next 48 hours, with resolution hinging on the official daily maximum reported by the Austin-Bergstrom station.
