Latest National Weather Service and model consensus point to a highest temperature in the mid-to-upper 90s for Austin on September 25, driven by a persistent high-pressure ridge maintaining above-normal late-summer warmth with light easterly winds and minimal cloud cover or precipitation. This aligns with the broader September 2026 heat anomaly, where Austin has already logged multiple days above 100 °F and mean highs roughly 8–10 °F above the 1991–2020 average of 91 °F. Forecasters note typical variability of a few degrees in final observations, but current guidance shows little support for 100 °F-plus readings or a sharp cooldown before the 25th.
