Current National Weather Service and private model consensus for Atlanta on September 16 points to a minimum temperature in the mid-60s under clear skies and light easterly winds, consistent with typical early-fall radiative cooling after daytime highs near 90°F. Stable high pressure and minimal cloud cover favor efficient overnight heat loss, while dew points in the upper 50s to low 60s limit further cooling. Historical averages place the date’s low near 66°F, with recent years rarely dipping below 63°F absent frontal passages. Trader sentiment remains closely split between sub-64°F and 82°F-plus outcomes because short-range model runs still carry small temperature spreads of a few degrees, and any unexpected moisture or wind shift could alter the exact minimum recorded at official stations. Updated evening forecast discussions will likely tighten these ranges.
