Silver prices around $69.70 per ounce as of August 22 reflect support from cooling inflation, with the latest CPI at 3.36% year-over-year and core at 2.48%, alongside the Federal Reserve holding the funds rate at 3.50-3.75%. Recent consolidation near $63-70 follows volatility tied to labor market data and three FOMC dissents favoring tighter policy. Industrial demand from solar and data centers, plus gold correlation and softer USD readings, remain key supports, while higher-for-longer rates could cap upside. Traders monitor upcoming August economic releases and any Fed commentary for shifts in implied rate paths that typically influence XAG/USD positioning ahead of the August 24-28 window.

If the relevant Pyth data is unavailable due to a system outage, data failure, or other technical disruption that prevents verification of the required 1-minute candle data, the official daily high/low price published for the relevant CME COMEX futures contract for the underlying metal—COMEX Silver Futures (SI)—may be used to determine whether the listed price was reached during the applicable trading session.
