This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Chicago O'Hare Intl Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 1 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=kord This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Current forecasts from the National Weather Service and private models converge on a high of 90–92°F for Chicago on September 1, 2026, with partly to mostly sunny skies and only a slight (20–30%) chance of morning showers.** This aligns directly with the market’s leading 90–91°F bin at 42.5% implied probability, followed by 88–89°F (25.5%) and 92–93°F (19.0%). A warm southerly flow ahead of a slow-moving front is advecting above-normal heat and moisture into the region after a cooler weekend. Dew points in the mid-70s will support the warmth, while limited cloud cover and weak subsidence under building high pressure favor maximum temperatures reaching the low 90s. Historical climatology for early September shows an average high near 77–80°F, so this pattern represents a notable late-summer surge. Model consensus has remained stable over the past 48 hours, with minimal spread in guidance and low odds of significant convective cooling. Traders are therefore pricing the 90–91°F outcome highest, while still assigning meaningful probability to the adjacent bins given typical forecast uncertainty of ±2–3°F within 48 hours of the event. Updated NWS and model runs on August 31–September 1 morning represent the key remaining catalysts.
