An incoming Pacific storm system is the main driver behind trader positioning around 64–67°F for Seattle’s September 3 high, with the two leading bins nearly tied. Official National Weather Service guidance and ensemble models show a frontal passage bringing widespread rain, embedded showers, and isolated thunderstorms that will limit daytime heating through persistent cloud cover and evaporative cooling, keeping highs well below the 73–74°F climatological average. Southerly flow ahead of the front and modest wind gusts further moderate temperatures while steering the system onshore. Recent model runs remain consistent on timing and intensity, though small shifts in the frontal position or rainfall timing could nudge the peak into the adjacent 68–69°F or 62–63°F ranges before resolution.
