**Forecast models from the National Weather Service and other sources indicate a minimum temperature in the mid-to-upper 60s°F for Los Angeles on September 23, 2026, driven by building high pressure aloft and a shallow marine layer.** A weak upper-level trough is exiting the region, reducing onshore flow and allowing earlier clearing of low clouds and fog compared to the prior days. This setup favors overnight lows near 65–68°F at coastal stations such as LAX, with limited radiational cooling due to light winds and residual moisture. Historical September averages hover around 63°F, but the current synoptic pattern supports above-normal warmth. Trader sentiment reflects this consensus, with 66–67°F leading at 49.5% implied probability, while the 44% on 57°F or below captures residual model spread or potential for a deeper marine layer to enhance cooling. Key variables differentiating outcomes include exact marine-layer depth overnight and any late adjustments in the NWS forecast discussion. Updated model runs and the next NWS briefing remain the primary near-term catalysts.
