Rich McCormick, the Republican incumbent in Georgia’s 7th congressional district, faces Democrat Tony Kozycki in the November 3 general election. The district’s R+11 Partisan Voter Index, consistent Republican performance in recent cycles, and McCormick’s prior 65 percent showing create strong structural advantages that support an outright majority. Georgia law requires a December 1 runoff only if no candidate exceeds 50 percent, yet the race ratings from multiple forecasters classify the seat as safe or solid Republican. Trader consensus at 100 percent reflects these fundamentals and the absence of competitive dynamics that have triggered runoffs elsewhere. Late-breaking developments such as major scandals, health events, or extreme turnout shifts remain the primary variables that could still alter the outcome before Election Day.
