Recent National Weather Service guidance and ensemble model runs indicate a moderate onshore flow and lingering marine layer influence keeping downtown Los Angeles highs in the mid-80s for August 26, with the official normal maximum listed at 85°F. Stronger high pressure aloft has supported a regional heat wave earlier in the week, yet coastal cooling and afternoon sea breezes are expected to limit further warming and cap the peak near or slightly above normal. Trader consensus reflected in the 84–87°F range aligns with this pattern, while lower-probability outcomes above 90°F would require a sharper offshore wind shift or model error in boundary-layer mixing. Updated short-range forecasts tonight and early-morning observations will provide the final inputs before market resolution.
