An incoming Pacific low-pressure system and associated frontal passage are driving cooler-than-average conditions across the Pacific Northwest, with National Weather Service guidance pointing to overnight lows near 51–55°F in Seattle on September 3 amid widespread rain, showers, and southwesterly winds. Cloud cover and precipitation limit radiative cooling while marine air advection and mixing from gusty flow moderate extremes, keeping most model consensus in the low-to-mid 50s. Historical climatology shows a typical early-September low near 55°F, but the active pattern introduces variability in exact minimums depending on frontal timing and local boundary-layer effects. Traders weigh these factors against potential model shifts in upcoming NWS updates and ensemble runs.
