Recent National Weather Service and model consensus forecasts indicate a high near 96°F for Houston on August 28, driven by persistent late-summer southerly flow and above-average Gulf moisture under partly to mostly sunny skies, with afternoon heating expected to push surface temperatures into the mid-90s. A 30-40% chance of isolated thunderstorms could limit peak readings if convection initiates earlier or covers broader areas, introducing modest downside risk to the daily maximum. Historical August climatology shows typical highs of 93-97°F at Houston Hobby, providing context for the tight clustering of market-implied probabilities around 94-97°F. Updated model runs and NWS briefings over the next 12-18 hours will refine timing of any storms and influence final resolution near the 94-97°F thresholds.
