This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Chicago O'Hare Intl Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 8 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=kord This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Trader consensus centers on a Chicago minimum temperature of 62–67°F for September 8, 2026, with the top three bins (62–63°F at 31%, 64–65°F at 30%, 66–67°F at 29%) nearly tied and 60–61°F close behind at 25.5%.** Higher outcomes above 70°F carry notably lower implied probabilities. This positioning reflects National Weather Service and model guidance showing an overnight low in the low-to-mid 60s under partly to mostly cloudy skies, with southerly flow off Lake Michigan limiting radiative cooling. Dew points near 60°F and light winds (generally 5–10 mph) reduce the potential for sharper drops, while recent warm advection has kept prior nights in the upper 60s to low 70s. Historical climatology supports a normal low near 62°F for the date, providing a baseline that aligns with the clustered market odds. Key differentiating factors include subtle variations in cloud cover and wind direction that affect how much the temperature falls before sunrise, plus minor differences between official stations (e.g., O’Hare vs. Midway). Model runs show limited spread, keeping extreme outcomes (below 60°F or above 70°F) at very low probabilities. As the day advances, updated observations and any late forecast adjustments from the Chicago NWS office will be the primary drivers of further market movement.
