Ena Koike enters this ITF W100 Cary hard-court match as the clear favorite, backed by her WTA ranking near 411 and a 26-14 record in 2026 that reflects steady results across multiple ITF levels. The 19-year-old Japanese player has shown reliable form on outdoor hard courts, including recent wins that have kept her competitive in higher-tier events. Tatum Evans, a 20-year-old American ranked around 999 with a 12-2 mark this season, brings momentum from strong showings in lower ITF and college circuits at UNC, but faces a notable gap in professional experience and ranking points. Head-to-head history favors Koike, who has prevailed in prior meetings. Outdoor hard conditions and the single-elimination format in Cary leave limited room for late adjustments, though Evans could capitalize on any service inconsistencies or unforced errors from her higher-ranked opponent.
