Persistent effects from a late-season heat wave, including elevated morning lows and high clouds from Tropical Storm Marie remnants, have kept trader focus on an 80–85°F range for San Francisco’s official high on September 10, with 82–83°F and 84–85°F bins leading at combined 55.5% implied probability. Increasing onshore flow and the redevelopment of the marine layer—a cool, moist air mass driven by the California Current and pressure gradients—are expected to moderate peak temperatures relative to September 9’s record readings near 94°F at SFO, though the exact high hinges on the timing and strength of this coastal breeze versus residual inland warmth. Model spreads and SF’s sharp microclimate gradients add uncertainty, as stronger marine influence could cap readings nearer 80°F while weaker flow allows brief pushes into the mid-80s before evening cooling sets in.
