Forecast models from the National Weather Service and others indicate Miami's September 8 minimum will likely fall in the upper 70s, driven by typical early-September tropical moisture, high humidity near 90 percent at night, light variable winds, and widespread cloud cover from afternoon thunderstorms that suppress radiative cooling. Recent days have seen similar overnight lows of 76–78°F under comparable conditions. The close contest between the 76–77°F and 78–79°F bins reflects minor forecast spread in storm timing and exact cloud thickness, which can alter the minimum by 1–2°F; stronger winds or clearer skies overnight would favor the lower range, while persistent overcast supports the higher. Updated NHC and local model runs tonight will clarify resolution thresholds before the daily low is recorded.
