Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Los Angeles International Airport points to a high near 87°F on September 8 under partly cloudy skies and west-southwest winds of 15-25 mph, following the passage of Hurricane Marie remnants that delivered rare early-September rain and kept September 5-6 highs in the mid-70s. This marine-influenced regime, combined with seasonal onshore flow and a modest post-storm warming trend, supports the market's tight clustering around 84-89°F. Coastal stations typically run several degrees cooler than inland areas, and any strengthening of the marine layer or timing shifts in clearing could nudge readings toward the lower bins, while stronger offshore influence would favor the upper end. Updated NWS briefings and afternoon model runs will provide the next key data points before resolution.
