Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicate northeasterly flow and increasing cloud cover will keep New York City nighttime temperatures in the mid-to-upper 50s°F for September 25, driving the market's tight clustering around 56–59°F outcomes. Persistent onshore winds from a nearby high-pressure system limit radiative cooling while scattered showers may add modest evaporative effects, though official forecasts show only modest disagreement on the exact minimum. Historical climatology places the average low near 58°F, providing context for why traders assign the highest implied probability to the 58–59°F bin despite the two-day forecast horizon. Updated model runs and National Weather Service briefings ahead of the date remain the key variables that could shift resolution.
