Recent National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model guidance indicate a cold front advancing into the Southeast will drive Atlanta's September 23 high into the upper 70s to low 80s, aligning with market-implied odds centered on 76–79°F. Easterly flow ahead of the front is increasing low-level moisture and cloud cover while limiting afternoon heating, with scattered showers expected to further suppress maximum temperatures through evaporative cooling. This marks a sharp drop from the unseasonably warm 90°F+ readings earlier in the week. Resolution hinges on the precise timing and intensity of precipitation, which official observations from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport will determine; updated NWS guidance and morning model runs tomorrow could refine the expected peak.
