Recent National Weather Service and model guidance points to mostly sunny conditions and a high near 100°F in Austin on September 21, with light southerly winds and heat indices reaching 104–105°F, supporting the market’s concentration on 98–99°F (39%) and 96–97°F (25.5%) ranges. Persistent high pressure and minimal cloud cover have kept daytime maxima in the upper 90s through mid-September, with only modest day-to-day variability expected through the weekend. Ensemble consistency across short-range forecasts reduces the likelihood of significant cooling or late intensification, though a slight uptick in afternoon humidity could nudge readings toward the 100–101°F bin (18.5%). Traders are weighting official NWS updates and the final 48-hour model runs most heavily ahead of resolution.
