Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance positions a high near 70°F for New York City on September 19, driving the strong market preference for the 70-71°F bin. A cooler air mass advecting from the north behind a weak front, combined with northeast to east winds of 8-10 mph, is expected to limit daytime warming after mid-80s readings earlier in the week. Forecast soundings show limited moisture and mostly partly cloudy skies, supporting the tight clustering around 70-72°F with minimal upside risk from mixing or insolation. Updated model runs through the weekend and any final NWS forecast adjustments ahead of resolution remain the key near-term catalysts for trader positioning.
