Latest National Weather Service and private model guidance point to overnight lows in the mid-to-upper 70s for Houston on September 19, with clear skies and light easterly winds favoring modest radiative cooling after a 93–94 °F daytime high. High dew points near 70 °F limit the overnight drop typical of late-summer subtropical conditions, keeping the minimum well above the 71.7 °F climatological average. Minor spread among runs arises from small differences in predicted cloud cover and boundary-layer mixing after sunset. With resolution only hours away, the market’s near-even split between the 74–75 °F and 76–77 °F bins reflects this narrow forecast range and the inherent uncertainty in precise minimum-temperature verification at official stations.
