Recent polling trends position New Zealand First as the frontrunner for third place behind National and Labour in the November 2026 election. The party has climbed to 8–13.6% in multiple surveys, buoyed by voter shifts from the governing coalition partners. The Greens hover near 10–12% but show more volatility and recent softening in some aggregates. A surging Opportunity Party at 4–8% draws support that could fragment smaller-party results, while ACT remains competitive for seats but trails in raw party vote. Traders appear to weigh New Zealand First’s momentum and historical kingmaker role under MMP as key factors sustaining its lead in the market.
