Recent July 2026 CPI data showing headline inflation easing to 3.12% year-over-year, with core at 3.95%, has anchored trader sentiment for Mexico's 2026 annual inflation rate amid Banxico's 3% ±1% target range. This disinflation trajectory, supported by subdued energy prices and moderating services pressures, underpins the leading 35% implied probability for the 3.50-3.99% band and 28.5% for 4.00-4.49%. Analyst forecasts from the IMF and BBVA cluster near 3.9%, while Banxico's decision to hold the policy rate at 6.50% and delay full convergence to 2027 highlights persistent core risks and economic uncertainty that keep outcomes closely contested. Upcoming INEGI releases and FOMC spillovers remain key swing factors.
