Fort Bend County, a fast-growing Houston suburb with shifting demographics including rising Hispanic and independent voter shares, functions as a key battleground where both campaigns are targeting turnout and persuasion efforts. Paxton's primary victory over incumbent John Cornyn and Talarico's primary win over Jasmine Crockett set up the matchup, while outside spending and fundraising disparities have kept the contest fluid. The county outcome hinges on which party better mobilizes its base in the final weeks, with no decisive polling edge yet emerging to separate the frontrunners.
