Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s victory in the August 2026 Democratic primary for Florida’s 20th congressional district has reinforced trader expectations of a Democratic general-election win on November 3. The seat’s strong Democratic lean, reflected in a Cook Partisan Voting Index of D+22 and consistent large margins for Democratic presidential candidates, underpins the 94.5% implied probability. Redistricting placed the longtime incumbent in this plurality-Black Broward County district after her prior seat was altered, while the Republican nominee, Brent Andersen, faces structural disadvantages in a constituency that has not elected a Republican in decades. An independent candidate adds minor fragmentation but does not alter the fundamentals. Late developments such as candidate withdrawal, major scandal, or health events remain the primary variables that could still shift the outcome before election day.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
