Current National Weather Service and ensemble forecasts for Austin on September 7 point to overnight lows in the mid-70s, driven by persistent southerly flow, high dew points near 70°F, and limited nocturnal radiative cooling under partly cloudy skies. This setup favors readings around 76–78°F at official stations like Austin-Bergstrom, well above the 1991–2020 climatological average low of 70°F for the date. Trader sentiment remains split because short-range models can shift with small changes in boundary-layer moisture or wind, while the market’s near-even odds on sub-68°F or 86°F+ outcomes reflect uncertainty over exact measurement timing and station-specific resolution. Updated NWS guidance and next model runs will likely tighten the distribution ahead of the overnight period.
