Union Centriste currently holds 59 seats in the French Senate ahead of the September 27, 2026, indirect election renewing 178 of 348 total seats. Trader consensus clusters around 56-64 seats because the group's results will depend on performance within the stable centre-right bloc that includes Les Républicains, where seat allocation between the two allies often shifts modestly from one cycle to the next. Recent municipal and departmental elections have shown limited volatility in centrist support among the local officials who form the electoral college, reducing expected net gains or losses. With roughly one month until voting, no major national political realignments or scandals have emerged to alter this baseline, keeping probabilities concentrated on outcomes near the current total.
