Incumbent Jack Crompton’s decision to seek a third term, citing unfinished priorities around housing affordability and municipal operations, has anchored trader consensus at 88.5 percent for the October 17, 2026, Whistler mayoral race. His prior electoral record, including a decisive 2022 victory and earlier acclamation, reinforces the implied probability. Challenger Brandon Smith’s August 14 entry, emphasizing housing, wildfire prevention, transportation, and preservation of mountain culture while calling for a municipal “refresh,” has been priced at 12.5 percent, reflecting limited time to build name recognition or organization against an established officeholder in a resort community. No other declared candidates have shifted the market, leaving broader “Other” outcomes at lower implied probabilities consistent with the narrow field and incumbency dynamics typical in British Columbia municipal elections.
